Liam at Shea Stadium
I went to NYC for the week so Val didn't have to travel. On Saturday we went to Shea Stadium to see the Mets play the Yankees. It was neat to experience the 'Subway Series' up close. It was nice to hear all the Mets fans hating on the Yankees. Liam can now say he was at Shea Stadium before it closed. Unfortunately we suffered through a few rain delays and then had to witness the Yankees winning. Fun none-the-less.

Conley Family
Hey Liam - Meet some of your family. This is your dad's side of the family tree and includes your grandparents, aunts, and uncles -- cousins not included. There are a few Conley's, a couple Feeley's and a Finnemore. All wonderful people who can't wait for your arrival.

Pediatrician Selected
Ok another couple items taken care of as we ready for baby Liam's arrival with the most significant being finding a pediatrician. My friend Sandy at UMass Lowell recommended Dr. Mark Gilchrist, so we went with that and made arrangements for him to become Liam's pediatrician. Second we arranged to get a hospital tour over at Lowell General Hospital as we haven't seen it at all yet and aren't doing any formal birthing classes. Still 2 months to go, but hopefully it will go fast.

The Countdown Begins!
Well today Liam and I made another visit to the Doctor's office. It was very routine and found out that little Liam is growing at a good rate - not too big and not too small. His little heartbeat continues to be strong and normal. Mom also got a clean bill of health. All the routine blood work done on Friday came back with no concerns or issues. So the countdown now begins - we are 31 weeks and 1 day along in this journey and now have an appt to see the Dr. every two weeks.
They have advised and I am already planning to stop traveling for work no later than my 36th week. So I plan to spend the last days/weeks in August sitting at home in Lowell which will be great to begin to unwind from work and get ready to be in "mommy" mode. My niece Hallee is planning to visit during that time to help me prepare and then my mom will visit toward the end of August with the hope of getting to be one of the first to meet Liam.
We continue to be very excited for Liam's arrival. Our living room looks like a baby gadget show room as Rich has been very diligent at quickly setting up every new baby item that arrives at the house. I think we have it all - the play crib, the high chair, the swing, the jumparoo, two strollers, the bath tub and the tummy time play mat...LOL. We have had such a great time playing with it already and trying to make sure we know how to operate it before we need to do it with Liam in our arms.
Stay tuned....

Massachusetts Baby Shower

Thanks to all who came to Saturday's baby shower. Special thanks to mom for putting it all together as the party was very nice and was filled with great family and friends. Everyone is so kind and generous. Liam is going to be super well dressed and his bedroom is ready for his arival.
This is a very neat 'cake' made by Fern. It is filled with pampers, toys, towels, and other useable baby products.

Father's Day Wishes
This is my last year of celebrating Father's Day with "only" my dad -- next year I should be able to enjoy it with both dad and Liam. Sports and golf in particular have been great connection points between dad and myself. We both enjoy sharing our successes on the course and competing against one another. Some of my wonderful memories of my dad have occured on the golf course -- be it as a kid down at a Disney or Hilton Head course when I am sure my game didn't belong there, to playing in Ireland a few years ago, and of course our participation in our high school alumni tournament with my Uncles Jack and Billy. So dad -- Happy Fathers Day!! I love you!! I look forward to many more rounds of golf and the day when we can add Liam to our outings.

29 Week Checkup
Today was a quick checkup with the baby doctor and they said the heartbeat was great and growth was as expected.
They set us up with appointments right on through the rest of the pregnancy. They also gave us information on scheduling a tour of the hospital, so we hope to do that in early July. For size perspective babycenter says:

This week he weighs about 2 1/2pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel.

A Shower for Liam!
Today we had a shower for Liam in Ohio thanks to Grandma Jenny. It was awesome. Liam received so many wonderful gifts. Everything from diapers, some new clothes, washclothes/towels/robes, to some fun new toys, books and music. Liam also very much enjoyed all the wonderful food including homemade cake and cookies. Thanks to everyone who assisted in planning and all those who came from near and far to celebrate with us!
