Dr. Appt Update
Today we went for another Dr. Appt. It went well. Liam is behaving nicely and has been confirmed to be in the head down position. So at this point all we can do is wait and the Dr. says Liam will arrive when ever he wants to at this point. His heartbeat remains in the 130's which is good and he continues to be on the move several times a day. I am heading back to NYC tomorrow for a final 3 days of onsite work. Liam and I will be glad to have this trip behind us so we can spend the rest of the month at home. Ok, maybe me more than Liam. Today I got dressed for work and tried to put on my work shoes to find out that nothing but flip flops and casual sneakers will fit. The joys of the last few weeks are setting in but will be well worth it!!!

Week 36
Well today starts week 36. So only 4 weeks to go until my due date of 8/24. I am heading to the Dr. in the morning and then if all is well back to NYC on Tuesday for 3 more days of work on the project. The travel is getting to be a bit more draining so it will be a relief to have that behind us. Liam doesn't like sitting on the train for 3.5 hours and definitely doesn't make it easy to carry much.
We have been making sure all of our i's are dotted and t's are crossed at home - preparing the bassinet and the changing table downstairs, etc. We finally went yesterday to buy the car seat and the bags for the hospital are packed and ready to go! Won't be long now!!! We get more and more excited and nervous with every passing day.

Week 35
Here is Val at the start of week 35 which is day 252 for those of you counting at home. She looks great -- and that isn't just me saying it as everyone thinks she is carrying well. And then on top of it the heat hasn't been bothering her too much. Unfortunately she is getting a bit achy with her back and side when she sits or stands for too long. She is a hero -- as are all the women who have done this work -- clearly not for the weak like me. We have a doctor's appointment in the morning and then Val is off to NYC. She has 2 more weeks of travel and we just hope Liam behaves and stays where he is for that time.
Max's 2nd Birthday
On Saturday we went out to Rutland for Max Gaffney's 2nd Birthday. He was a very happy birthday boy and loved opening his presents. He also enjoyed being surrounded by a dozen or so kids. Certainly our perspective on kid birthday parties is changing as we realize in a year we'll be hosting our own parties. Pat and Cheri had quite the spread complete with edible sand for the kids to eat. It was awesome seeing many of my hometown friends with their own kids -- all of whom are adorable (kids that is). Being out there certainly makes me wish I lived closer to my hometown..... maybe someday.

Crane Beach
We are at Crane Beach (Ipswich) today. We keep thinking how much fun it will be to bring Liam to the beach in a couple years. There are tons of families here and we keep checking out their gear and how they manage their active kids. Wow - it seems like a lot of work. (Thanks mom and dad for taking us when we were young)

Fenway Park
Liam loves Fenway. He was here earlier in season but wasn't aware he was in the home of the world champs.

As if...
As if I didn't already know I had the best husband in the world and that Liam had the best dad in the world, Rich surprised me last night with a very nice present. It is a mother/child necklace that many of you have probably seen before but with an irish twist - at the bottom it has a nice celtic design and came with a very nice card enscribed with the following:
"Celtic Mother's Knot
'Gra Mathair' translated from Gaelic means 'A mother's love.' Is there any love greater than that of a mother and her children? There is an old Irish saying that says 'a mother holds her children's hands for a little while and their hearts forever.' This unassuming sylized representation of a parent and child embrace combined with a trinity knot is a testament to the enduring bond between a mother, her child, faith and their Irish heritage"

7 weeks To Go
We are now in the stage where I am going to the doctor every two weeks. Today was another visit. The doctor has confirmed that little Liam continues to grow at just the right pace. The doctor may say that but I think he is getting big fast. what a difference a couple of weeks has made. It has definitely gotten harder for me to get around and sleep. Mentally I feel great and still have energy if I am sitting. That all changes when I am up and about or standing for very long. But I am challenging myself to get out and do at least a short walk everyday. I am sure it will help both Liam and I in the long run. So only 7 weeks to go before our due date. We get more excited and nervous with every passing day!

NYC Accenture/NYCAPS/FISA Shower

Val's colleagues surprised her with a baby shower this week. It was something her team pulled together and had lots of people there, great ice cream cake, and some wonderfully generous gifts. It was a nice time and Val was truly surprised.
